The following is a really simple tutorial that should help you understand how to handle the movement of a Jester in Mazechess 1.1.
Step 1: Understand the Jester’s Movement
- The Jester moves like a Queen but is limited to two spaces in any direction (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally).
Step 2: Set Up the Chessboard
- Start with an empty standard chessboard. The vertical axis is labeled A to H (West to East), and the horizontal axis is labeled 1 to 8 (South to North).
Step 3: Place the Jester
- Position the Jester at the starting square A1.
Step 4: Add Random Blocking Squares
- Randomly place 10 blocking squares on the board ( B2, C5, E3, F6, G2, H4, D7, B6, E1, and G7).
- The table will look like:

Step 5: Plan Your Route
- Examine the board and plan a route from A1 to H8, considering how to navigate around the blocking squares using the Jester’s movement capabilities.
Step 6: Start Moving the Jester (Example Moves)

- First Move: From A1 to C1
- Second Move: From C1, move to E3
- Third Move: From E3, navigate to G5
- Fourth Move:From G5 to H6
- Fifth Move:From H6 to H8
